For idc-studio sustainability is not a trending topic, it's a design principle. Everything we humans create has an impact on our environment.
Our creations consume material resources, space, energy. This is also true for services, processes and everyday behaviors & decisions.
We rely on nature's productivity and resiliency. We need her laws to function in our favor. We use her systems, her reproductive and evolutionary powers. And we take all of this for granted.
Yet none of these aspects is limitless or guaranteed. It is high time we start to design our businesses with the impact on nature and our environment in mind - since, ultimately, all we create has an impact on human welfare and wellbeing.
For a comprehensively responsible design we also need to look closer at employees and society. We need to treat them as stakeholders, not only of the output of our design but also of the process of creation.
